Listing rules
The rules, in short
The same rules apply to every business, paid or free. The full version is on How we list.
- Real local plumbers only. Your own website must show plumbing work, a phone number and where you are based.
- 25 miles, or 35 in smaller metro areas. You appear on a city page when your base is within about 25 miles of that city (35 miles where the metro area has under a million people) and your website names it or nearby towns.
- Two city pages at most. Only when your base is within range of both cities. Outside our metro areas, you are listed on your state page.
- A to Z, never for sale. Free listings are alphabetical. One City Spotlight per city, always labeled. Paying never adds a city.
- Re-checked every 6 months. A website that is down on two checks in a row is removed.
- Left out: call centers posing as local plumbers, lead-generation networks and businesses without their own website.

Paid placements are offered only in cities where your business passes our listing rules. Paying never adds a city and never changes the A to Z order. No card is taken online: placements are agreed by email, with written terms, before anything is charged. This is a new directory: any traffic figure we give you will carry the month it was measured and how it was counted.
